What I have learned
While studying at the Institute I quickly learned that there is no magic pill to achieve the perfect body, neither is there a perfect diet that suits every person. More importantly for me, there is actually no such thing as a perfect body. We are all unique, so what suits one person may not suit another. In addition to that, many people are simply overwhelmed and confused by the amount of information that they have access to regarding a ‘healthy diet’. It can leave them feeling inadequate and downright stressed. So I aim to bring food back to basics with easy steps to a healthy lifestyle – step one is relax into it, cut the stress & keep it simple – that means no diet sheets & no meal plans from this nutritionist.
Something else that I have learned is that telling people what to eat just isn’t enough, the mind plays a huge part in why we eat, the way we eat and also how we metabolise what we eat. That’s where Marc David's philosophies come into the picture. The Institute's Coach Certification course taught me that every unwanted eating habit or symptom is a doorway and when we go through that doorway and dig around a little - or sometimes a lot, we discover the real reason behind our habits or symptoms – the messages that our body is whispering. Actually, sometimes our body is yelling, we just aren’t listening!
